Reasons can include glazes that have crackled where they weren’t supposed to, bald spots in glaze (called crawling), maybe a chip in the mug anywhere noticeable. This mushroom mug is 12oz. The flaw is a weird looking area of glaze on the lip where I had to re glaze and re fire. It is almost perfect but just didn’t meet my quality standards.
