This is a SECOND. What is a second? A second is an item that doesn’t meet my normal quality standards for any reason. Reasons can include glazes that have crackled where they weren’t supposed to, bald spots in glaze (called crawling), maybe a chip in the mug anywhere noticeable. All seconds sale items are discounted but they are all safe to use! I don’t sell anything not food safe! Prices and discounts vary depending on the flaw.
This is a 12oz mushroom mug that has some glaze defects on the handle. The glaze initially crawled (leaving a bald spot) so I added more and re-fired it. The result is a totally smooth and covered handle that looks just a bit visually different. Everything else about the mug is normal! The mushrooms have glossy caps and matte stems.
Size guide: While some variation can be expected with handmade items, the sizes generally are: 8oz mug is 3 inches tall, 3 inch diameter. 12oz mug is 3.5 inches tall, 3 inch diameter. 16oz mug is 4.5 inches tall 3.5 inch diameter.
Everything is dishwasher and microwave safe!
