Reasons can include glazes that have crackled where they weren’t supposed to, bald spots in glaze (called crawling), maybe a chip in the mug anywhere noticeable. All seconds sale items are discounted but they are all safe to use! I don’t sell anything not food safe! Prices and discounts vary depending on the flaw.
This mug is a classic black checkerboard mug. It unfortunately had a small piece of clay stuck inside the bottom that I glazed over. It is just kind of sharp which means be careful when washing it! Luckily you can just stick it in the dishwasher if you wanted to! Does not affect function at all. This is a 12oz mug.
Size guide: While some variation can be expected with handmade items, the sizes generally are: 8oz mug is 3 inches tall, 3 inch diameter. 12oz mug is 3.5 inches tall, 3 inch diameter. 16oz mug is 4.5 inches tall 3.5 inch diameter.
